What do the fees cover?

When you enroll in our schools, you will receive free all of the paperwork necessary to apply for an Education Visa. So, the fees cover your lessons and paperwork processing for application materials.

Are there other fees, hidden fees or visa fees?

Here are some processing fees, along with a typical charge, which can vary by location:

• You will apply for a 90-Day Non-Immigrant ED Visa at your nearest Thai embassy or consulate. The fee paid to the consulate for this is generally about 2,200 THB or US$65
• Extension fee to local Immigration Office: 1,900 THB
• Reentry permit: 1,000 THB

How many visa runs do I as a student have to do during the year?

Once you have the initial visa, there are no visa runs as long as you are enrolled in the program.

What about my second, third, fourth... years – do I have to do a visa run?

At the end of each year of enrollment, you simply go to the Immigration Office and extend for another year. This can be done up to 10 years, depending on location.

Do I need an ED Visa to study at your schools?

No. You are welcome to study at our schools with any visa. Should you require an ED Visa, we are pleased to assist you with the application materials at no extra charge.

What nationalities are eligible?

Anyone is eligible for the ED visa. Citizens of India, China, Sri-Lanka, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Iran and Middle Eastern countries must apply for the initial visa in their country.

Can I change my current Tourist visa into an ED visa without leaving Thailand?

For Tourist Visas, you must process your application for an ED Visa at a Thai consulate or embassy outside of Thailand.

Can I change my current Non-Immigrant O or B visa into an ED visa without leaving Thailand?

This can be done only through the Chiang Mai and Khon Kaen locations. For other locations, you must process your application for an ED Visa at a Thai consulate or embassy outside of Thailand.

How long does the visa paperwork process take?

After completing the application in our office, the visa takes approximately ten working days (two weeks) to process. On arrival you will be permitted to stay for 90 days. With the paperwork provided by our school you will be able to extend your stay at your local immigration office for the duration of the course – there will be no need for visa runs. At present, extensions cost only 1,900 Baht each, so this is much cheaper and more convenient than doing visa runs. You can enjoy studying Thai in a relaxed atmosphere, and at the same time not worry about making any visa runs.

What do I need to bring for my in-person application?

• Your actual, current passport
• A copy of each page of your passport
• 20 passport-size photographs
• Full payment of course fees

What guarantees do I have?

Your fees are 100% refundable if you are not approved for the visa. Course fees are not refundable once the visa has been issued or you have begun your studies. We cannot refund your application fees paid to consulates nor for travel to/from consulates for your application.

Can the School guarantee the visa will be granted?

We cannot guarantee the visa will be issued, however we can advise that all nationalities are treated equally and are all welcome to study Thai and experience the culture. Our school processes the application on your behalf and will do the utmost to assist.

Can I leave Thailand whilst on this visa?

Yes. For this you will need to visit the Department of Immigration prior to leaving to obtain a Re-Entry Permit. The Immigration Department will generally charge a fee of 1000B for a one-time reentry permit, or 3800B for a multiple reentry permit. You must obtain a Re-Entry Permit before leaving, or your visa will be void upon your departure.

Can I work in Thailand on the ED Visa?

You are not permitted to work in Thailand on an ED Visa. If you gain employment during your course, your employer will assist you with the appropriate visa and work permit paperwork. You will be free to continue your lessons as normal.

What can change?

Course fees may vary from year to year, so what you pay for the second or subsequent years of lessons may differ from the first year.
The Thai government may alter, at its will and without notice, processing procedures and fees, which may affect your application at the time of processing.
